Borderland is close to 3 good golf courses so is perfect for a golfing holiday break. There is a challenging course at Cricket St Thomas just 2 miles away and others at Lyme Regis and Seaton. With accommodation for up to 20 people Borderland is ideal for groups of golfers.
Want to experience the thrill of catching your own supper? There is plenty of good shore fishing nearby and we can provide rods/tackle for your trip. We can also arrange for a boat if you’d like to fish out on the water. For experienced anglers there is good bass, cod and pollack fishing from boat or shore and we can cater for groups who would like to charter their own boat. Depending on weather Chesil Beach or Portland are within easy reach and live bait is available at West Bay.

The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage site with 95 miles of stunning coastline including sheltered coves (Lulworth Cove), arches (Durdle Door), sandy beaches and an incredible 185 million years of geological history to be discovered. Whether it’s coastal walking, fossil hunting, relaxing on the beach or fishing the Jurassic Coast has it all.

For those not wanting to sit on the beach, there are many historic homes and places of interest, such as the remarkable house and gardens of Forde Abbey. Good access is offered to National Trust gems such as Montacute House. Children’s activities pursuit centres lead you into Somerset’s Cider country, with caves for exploration at Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
Nearby coastal towns include, West Bay, Charmouth, Lyme Regis “the pearl of Dorset Coast”, beloved of sandcastle architects and archaeologists alike. Seaton, Beer, Sidmouth and South Somerset are also all surrounded by beautiful countryside.
There is a useful shop nearby for self-catering necessities and good quality pubs and eateries in the locale include The Tytherleigh Arms Restaurant with a fine à la carte menu, Ye Olde Poppe Inn, a 16th Century coaching tavern with a cosy bar (come rain or shine!). Two of celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage locations may be found at Musbury, East Devon and Axminster, the setting for his informal Canteen and Deli. Chard offers a range of takeaways with a good delivery service. The Golden Fleece Restaurant is 200 yards away and serves traditionally home cooked food.
